Lifestyle, Street & People Photographer

Carlos began making pictures in high school because his installation art looked better in photographs than they did in real life. His academic background in film production and photography lead him to an interest in creating movement in still photos for various mediums of photography. After “retiring” from his film career in his early twenties, he picked up his first DSLR to continue conveying his visions as photographs.

Carlos has shot lifestyle campaigns for brands such as The Macallan and the Color Minded tour with Bumble and bumble. Hair inspiration social media marketing campaigns for Pro Hair Kit, test kitchen specials for SAVEUR Magazine and the Hyatt/Andaz hotel chain. He also enjoys shooting portraits of emerging musicians and artists.

Although a native of Florida, New Orleans is the city Carlos feels most at home; a city he calls a "true creative's paradise." Carlos enjoys getting into all-night discussions about New Orleans, including the city’s history, culture, its many characters and the best places to eat and drink. The city is the ideal backdrop for much of his personal work.

He is currently producing several Louisiana centered projects, covering topics such as the economic impact of wetland loss in the Gulf and the cultural influence of folk religions in the South. Many of his personal projects address the conflict of the convergence of people and the environment with a strong eye for images of nature reclaiming manmade structures.

When Carlos is not shooting professionally, his hobby is street photography, which is also this formally shy guy’s excuse to engage complete strangers and listen to their stories.
